Makes from real makers like you

We love looking at the photos people share with us using the #YesLaughingHens hashtag on Instagram! Here are some of our favourites that have been shared recently.

Did you know that we have a makers' gallery here on our website? (Click here to check it out!) You can filter by project type or just have a leisurely scroll through projects people have shared with us if you're craving some knitspiration or crochet joy. We love seeing what people make, it's one of the reasons we do what we do!

Baby cat hat pattern

This adorable little cat hat was made by @nanni_anne_crochet on Instagram using this pattern from King Cole! Sized for little ones 1 month to 3 years old, this pattern is perfect for cute photo ops and maybe this year's family Christmas card, don't you think?

This maker is a knitter and a crocheter, and loves making things for the little ones in her life. Thank you for sharing with us!

Rainbow self striping socks

These fun, fabulous socks were made by @HookyHQ on Instagram using this self-striping sock yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners, called Rum Paradise! This sock yarn is a favourite for our customers, and it's not hard to know why with those bright, vibrant colours and the strength and softness of the yarn. (Psst! It's machine washable!)

Cheetah print socks

Who doesn't love a little bit of self-patterning yarn? @WoolOfThings on Instagram conquered DPNs with this sock project, and it looks great! The tension is very even and snug, which we all know is perfect for socks. They used the Wool and the Gang Kinda Magic sock yarn, which comes in a range of these cute self-patterning colourways.

Chunky textured sweater pattern

Wow, we are very in love with this sweater that @Hi.Fiber on Instagram made! There's something deeply joyful about a chunky knit project that works up fast and snuggly and looks great, too. She used Wool and the Gang Full Moon jumper pattern, which is a step-by-step pattern with tutorials and guides, as well as links to helpful tips and tricks to take you from cast on to cast off.

The yarn used is Crazy Sexy Wool, which is a 100% wool super chunky weight yarn, available in 40 different shades. Personally, we'd make this sweater in Bronzed Olive, Cinnamon Dust, Hot Punk Pink, or Love Heart Pink, as seen below.

One more pair of socks for this post, because we LOVE socks, and it's the perfect spring and summer portable project for knitting on the go! This pair is by @Millie_Crea on Instagram, made for a loved one with lots of love. After all, hand-knitted socks are the best socks!

The yarn is the Robin colourway in West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4-ply, a self-patterning yarn that's made specially for socks. It's a lovely and soft sock yarn dyed into clever patterns with colours that make us think of weeks in cabins on the lake.
