Marie Wallin Patterns

Add color and class to your wardrobe with a Marie Wallin-designed garment. Known for her extraordinary use of color combined with her modern take on traditional Fair Isle designs, Marie provides the opportunity to create our own piece through her beautiful collection of pattern books.

Sources such as European folk art, Far East textile and carpet design, and Moorish ornamental design, inspire Marie's motifs which she weaves into enchanting designs using her specially developed sport-weight yarn - British Breeds.

Each book provides numerous photographs of each design and accompanying pattern charts. Thoughtfully, Marie also includes in each collection access to a downloadable PDF version so that you can enlarge the charts without having to spoil your printed book.

If you prefer single-color garments with texture - such as twists and cables - Marie also checks that box! Good luck with choosing that single color - her gorgeous range will have you wanting them all!

Going British

With a passion for natural fibers and British Wool, it's hardly surprising that Marie Wallin launched her own British Breeds range. The yarn is a hand-picked blend of four British breeds, each of which produce fibers that have distinct and valued properties.

The Bluefaced Leicester breed adds the beautiful softness, Exmoor Horn also adds softness yet this sheep produces a white fleece therefore adding a ‘cleaness’ to the blended tops making for more successful dyeing. Wensleydale or Romney adds the strength and luster and Zwartbles provides the bounce or springiness. Combined, this magical blend of fibers produces a wonderfully soft and bouncy yarn with a lovely mélange effect - perfect for standout stranded colorwork!
