One Ball Challenge: free Valentine's Day knitting pattern

Need a last minute free Valentine's Day knitting pattern? We're here to the rescue with this candy pocket, designed by Angelina Panozzo.

I don't know about all of you, but I'm a hopeless romantic. Not so much the huge expensive bouquets of red roses or spontaneous trips to beachy locations, though! The way to my heart is through two things: food, and cute little ways to let me know I'm loved. Post-it notes on the mirror, a secret candy bar, or a note in my packed lunch is a surefire way to make me melt. At Valentine's, we tend to focus on the little things, instead of grand gestures.

I wanted a little pouch to put notes and/or candy in. I wanted to be able to make it in less than 20 minutes, because I always forget about it until the last minute! This project uses less than one ball of Conway+Bliss Odin, a super chunky wool blend yarn. I also used 6.5mm needles, a yarn needle, and buttons.

Cast off these 4 stitches and cut a 15 inch tail. Using your yarn needle, weave the tail down the left side  to reach where you'll be knitting the other side with the long tail as your working yarn.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 to complete the left heart bump, and cast off. Make another heart exactly the same way!

Whip stitch the two hearts together, right sides facing out.

Sew on a button to the middle of one side. To create the loop, you can either knit 5 inches of i-cord or do a 5 inch crochet chain. I used a crochet chain because it's a bit faster than i-cord!Sew the ends of your loop to the inside of the heart.
