Inspired by Shetland and Nordic Fair Isle design Rowan's Midwinter Knit Along (KAL) starts on 17 August 2023
The Rowan Midwinter KAL by Martin Storey is a beautiful heirloom blanket knitted using Rowan Felted Tweed. Once completed, the throw measures approximately 79cm (31in) wide and 109cm (43in) long.
Inspired by Shetland and Nordic Fair Isle design, this KAL provides a platform for knitters to engage in a shared knitting journey led by renowned designer Martin Storey.
KAL participants will have the opportunity to create a beautiful and unique hand-knitted item while receiving guidance and support from Martin Storey and fellow knitters.
There are 7 pattern releases, which will be uploaded on the Laughing Hens website here. The first pattern is released on Thursday 17 August and every week thereafter for 7 weeks

The Midwinter Blanket is available in two versions:
A multicolour version featuring colourways Festive and Garland (each colourway needs a total of 12 balls of Rowan Felted Tweed in seven colours).
Festive Version - Contrasting pops of bright colours evoke a truly Festive feeling
Garland Version - Colourful Garland palette is a modern take on the traditional.
Mulled Wine Version - Simply does it with this warming Mulled Wine palette
Wintry Version - A sophisticated Wintry palette.
